This aqua blue art glass paperweight combines translucent blue glass with amber and reddish-brown flowing accents. Its asymmetrical silhouette, rippled edges, and circular recess create an eye-catching decorative desk sculpture with a different look from every angle. The bottom is inscribed “Butterfield 96,”; the artist's full identity has not been independently verified.
Displayed upright as a paperweight, it brings luminous color to a desk, bookshelf, or coastal-inspired vignette. The organic form also suits eclectic maximalist and contemporary decor. When laid flat, the circular recess may have been intended for a tea light.
