A beautiful and collectible piece of American Arts & Crafts metalwork — a hand-hammered copper bowl by Craftsman Co., stamped on the base with the maker's mark and model number 885. The bowl features a wide, organically shaped scalloped and ruffled rim that gives it a naturalistic, almost floral silhouette, a repoussé-style radiating ring detail pressed into the interior floor, and two small green felt resting pads on the bottom. The third is missing. The copper has developed a rich warm patina ranging from bright rose-gold to deep bronze-brown, with the hand-hammered texture visible across the entire surface.
Craftsman Co. was an American Arts & Crafts era metalware producer, and pieces like this — with their honest materials, handworked surfaces, and organic forms — are exactly what the movement celebrated. This bowl is a genuine collectible, equally at home in a curated Arts & Crafts interior, a Dark Academia study, or a styled shelf alongside other antique metalwork.
