A beautifully preserved oval white hobnail milk glass footed covered dish — a quintessential piece of American vintage glassware that brings timeless cottage charm to any interior. The style, construction, and all-over hobnail texture are consistent with pieces produced by Fenton Art Glass, one of the most celebrated American producers of hobnail milk glass. However, this piece does not bear a Fenton mark and its original paper sticker is no longer present — worth noting that Fenton did not use a permanent mark on their glassware prior to the 1970s, so the absence of a mark is not unusual for earlier pieces. Attribution to Fenton is the seller's best assessment based on style and construction, but cannot be confirmed with certainty.
The lid features a clustered hobnail finial and sits flush atop the oval bowl, which rests on three short footed legs. The underside of the lid reveals a smooth oval interior — a hallmark of Fenton-style construction. A wonderful display piece for a vanity, dresser, or curated shelf.
