This refined vintage tea strainer is a lovely example of traditional European silversmithing design — a pierced bowl set on a pedestal base, flanked by two elegantly reticulated handles in a Celtic knotwork / interlaced lattice pattern. It comes with its matching footed drip bowl, making it a complete and functional tea service accessory.
The plating shows warm tones through the base at the pedestal — a hallmark of silver or nickel plate over copper — and no maker’s marks are present, leaving the exact origin pleasantly mysterious. The overall form and pierced handle design are consistent with mid-20th century European or British silverplate production.
A beautiful addition to a tea service collection, a styled tablescape, or a curio shelf.
