A beautifully crafted piece of American studio stoneware, this Wisconsin Pottery salt glaze bowl is impressed with the maker's mark "Wisconsin Pottery / Columbus, WI / 1990" — making it a fully documented, dated, and regionally significant piece of Wisconsin craft pottery. The exterior is finished in a classic salt glaze that gives the stoneware its characteristic pebbly, orange-peel texture, a technique with deep roots in American folk pottery tradition.

Bold, expressive cobalt blue brushwork sweeps across the exterior in a loose floral and botanical motif — large blooms with radiating petals and sweeping leaf forms rendered with confident, gestural strokes. The interior is glazed in a rich, dark brown Albany-style slip glaze that deepens to near-black at the center. The rolled rim and sturdy, rounded form give it a satisfying heft and presence in the hand.

This bowl works beautifully as a decorative object on a shelf or mantle, as a fruit bowl, or as a centerpiece vessel. It's a wonderful example of late 20th-century Wisconsin studio pottery and a great find for collectors of American stoneware, regional craft pottery, and folk art.
